For the first time, these events will be open to the public, with a limited number of tickets available.

Building on last year’s dynamic series of high-profile industry engagements—which included a captivating talk by iconic designer Sir Paul Smith on “lateral thinking” and the importance of originality in design—the institute continues to redefine its forward-thinking curriculum. November 2024 also marked the launch of the Maison Meta Mentorship Programme, an exclusive initiative for MBA students, further solidifying Istituto Marangoni’s position as a leader in innovative fashion education.

Upcoming Event: Rahul Mishra

Tuesday, January 28, 2025, Istituto Marangoni London is thrilled to welcome Rahul Mishra, the acclaimed Indian haute couture designer and winner of the prestigious International Woolmark Prize. Known for his dedication to slow fashion and for celebrating India’s rich craft heritage, Mishra will participate in an in-conversation talk at the school. His work, rooted in sustainability, artisan empowerment, and redefining luxury as a participatory experience, exemplifies the values that resonate deeply with today’s fashion landscape.

The session will also spotlight Mishra’s new role as a mentor for the Fashion Design BA students. He will share his journey, creative philosophy, and vision, providing invaluable insights for students and attendees alike. Through his couture label and his ready-to-wear brand, AFEW Rahul Mishra, the designer seamlessly blends Indian heritage with a global perspective. Celebrated by industry icons such as Suzy Menkes, who called him a “national treasure,” and the late Franca Sozzani, who praised his ability to “highlight the best and most peculiar features of his homeland,” Mishra continues to inspire with his thoughtful approach to design.

Tuesday, February 4, 2025, Istituto Marangoni London will host an in-conversation talk with renowned Vogue journalist and British Fashion Council (BFC) Ambassador for Emerging Talent, Sarah Mower MBE. A passionate advocate for young designers and a respected fashion critic, Mower will lead this talk on the eve of her new role as a mentor at the institute. Starting in Spring 2025, she will guide BA Fashion Design students through a bespoke mentorship programme, sharing her extensive industry expertise and unwavering dedication to nurturing emerging talent.
